Today, Blizzard shared the first image of the actor Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Need for Speed) as King Llane the leader of Stormwind, the Alliance city of Stormwind and his character in the forthcoming World of Warcraft movie. We now have more details about the other characters who will be featured in the film , as well as the actors who portray these characters.
The Alliance part, we already suspected about Travis Fimmel (Vikings) had some part to play, but now we know that he'll be the role of the main character in the Alliance, Lothar, a war hero who is willing to sacrifice everything to bring peace to Azeroth.
At a special screening at Blizzcon, World of Warcraft Director Duncan Jones said the movie will include lots of special effects, which he described as "Avatar in addition to Lord of the Rings at the same at the same time."
The World of Warcraft movie has experienced a setback. CraveOnline interviewed Spider-Man Director Sam Raimi at Comic-Con last week. In the interview, the director announced that he is no longer involved with the film that is based on Blizzard's massively multiplayer online buy WoTLK Gold role-playing game due to his work on Oz: The Great and Powerful. Raimi has been announced as director of the World of Warcraft film director.
